After The Challenger tragedy on January 28, 1986, we hold our breathe each time we run outside to see the launches, as well as anticipate the “sonic boom” heard upon their returns. February 1st, 2003 at 9:16 AM, we were waiting to hear it, but it never came. We will always remember the brave crew of Columbia.

This is a picture from my back yard of a past Discovery Shuttle Launch . The shuttle passed through the sun set giving us this great picture with all the colors of the spectrum. Look close and you can see the boosters falling off as the Shuttle Discovery heads to the International space station.
